‘Globalisation revisited?’ Join M&A Forum The City 2017

We welcome you to join our yearly M&A Forum the City on Thursday September 14th from 5.30 PM onwards. 
Co-hosted by our partner ING, we invite M&A and investment professionals from the UK and The Netherlands to discuss the developments that shape the future of the industry. As always, we kick off with a thought provoking panel discussion at 6 PM. Witness and join the debate with prominent members of the M&A community.  After the session we invite you for drinks, snacks and informal networking.

Discussing the big question of 2017
Last year the debate focussed on the Brexit referendum, just one month before the actual voting. With the Brexit negotiations in full swing, the installation of US president Trump and the clear rise of nationalism, it demonstrates that many citizens have lost faith in the current political and economic system. The recent attempts of the Dutch government to ‘put a stop to’ hostile foreign takeovers are another sign that the winds have changed. The intensity of the protest exceeds that of a temporary backlash. Has the time come to rethink globalisation? Is it fair to say that we should reinvent ourselves? 

During the panel discussion we discuss the causes of the increasing protest against globalisation. We challenge you and our panel members to investigate if we need to change our course. What actions are justified and can they make a difference? Or do we believe it is an unwarranted and inefficient attempt to change the natural way the world and the markets work? On September 14th these questions will be touched upon during the M&A Forum ‘Globalisation revisited?' at the Grosvenor House in London.
